As part of the International Year of Volunteers, initiated by Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, systematic efforts to develop the volunteer movement continue in the Abay region.

Currently, 43 volunteer organizations and initiative groups operate in the region, with 5,744 registered activists. Since the beginning of the year alone, they have participated in approximately 350 socially significant events, reaching over 20,000 residents.

Particular attention is being paid to developing industry-specific volunteering. Since the beginning of the year, 50 social events, 158 environmental campaigns, and 36 preventive measures aimed at ensuring public safety and preventing emergencies have been held.

Medical volunteering is also actively developing. The "Men – Donormyn!" and QazMed Donor Days projects are being implemented jointly with the regional branch of the organization "Kazakhstan Medicine Zhastary." More than 100 volunteers participated in blood drives, and over 750 schoolchildren from over 30 educational institutions in the region learned first aid skills.

Environmental volunteering remains an important focus. Fifty-four environmental campaigns were held in the region, including as part of the national "Taza Kazakhstan" campaign.

Volunteers are also actively involved in projects in education, culture, and healthcare.

Considerable attention is paid to developing volunteer competencies. As part of the International Year of Volunteers, representatives of the National Volunteer Network conducted training for representatives of 37 volunteer organizations in the region. The regional front office organized 16 seminars and training sessions for volunteers.
