2026 CSR Forum: Corporate Volunteering Impact – Exploring UNV’s GIVE Framework

Volunteering Culture Korea and The Better Future hosted the 2026 CSR Forum on 2 September 2026 in Seoul to commemorate the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development 2026 (IVY 2026) and the 30th anniversary of Volunteering Culture Korea.

The forum brought together around 150 CSR and ESG professionals, volunteer managers, nonprofit practitioners, and other stakeholders to explore how corporate volunteering can create greater social impact and contribute to sustainable development.

A key focus of the forum was to explore the impact of corporate volunteering through the Global Index of Volunteer Engagement (GIVE) framework developed by the United Nations Volunteers (UNV). The keynote session introduced the GIVE framework and examined corporate volunteering through its four key dimensions: Value to the Individual, Value to the Community, Economic Value, and Enabling Environment. These dimensions provided a common framework for discussing how corporate volunteering creates value for employees, communities, companies, and the broader environment that enables volunteering.

The forum emphasized the importance of moving corporate volunteering beyond one-time participation toward purposeful, inclusive and impact-oriented engagement.

By connecting the GIVE framework with corporate and community practice in Korea, the forum contributed to the goals of IVY 2026 and encouraged companies and civil society organizations to recognize volunteers as active partners in creating sustainable social change.
