Kazakhstan continues to implement the International Volunteers Year, declared by the UN at the initiative of Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Since the beginning of 2026, 1,233 events have been organized in the Aktobe region, involving more than 56,000 young people.

There are approximately 7,000 volunteers in the region, including seven volunteer organizations and 132 volunteer groups. Volunteers participate in environmental campaigns, implement patriotic initiatives, promote digital literacy, and provide assistance to those in need.

Particular attention is being paid to the implementation of significant volunteer projects in the region. For example, the "Zhuldyzdy Zhermenke" charity project brings together volunteers, entrepreneurs, creative professionals, and city residents. Funds raised during the fair are used to assist low-income families, children with special needs, and others in need. The project promotes a culture of philanthropy and strengthens traditions of mutual assistance in society.

Another successful initiative is the three-day Volunteer School program, aimed at first- and second-year college and university students. Participants are trained in the fundamentals of volunteering, develop leadership skills, gain practical skills in organizing community events, and subsequently join active volunteer teams in the region.

New projects include Digital Volunteer Aqtobe, aimed at developing digital volunteering. The initiative has formed a mobile team of 30 volunteers trained in cybersecurity, digital literacy, and media communications. They help senior citizens and other vulnerable groups use electronic government services, as well as conduct preventative work to protect citizens from online fraud and improve digital literacy.
