The Breech Birth Awareness Initiative is a community health education project led by Cynthia Dzifa Koomson, Founder of Miracle Steps International Foundation and a Registered General Nurse in Ghana.
Launched on 31 August 2025 at Abokobi Polyclinic, the initiative promotes awareness of breech birth, birth preparedness, maternal health education, and the importance of timely healthcare-seeking during pregnancy.
Through this initiative, 70 pregnant women have received education on breech birth awareness and maternal health. The project demonstrates how volunteerism and community engagement can contribute to better-informed mothers, safer birth preparation, and improved maternal and newborn health outcomes.
The initiative supports Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, by promoting health education and community participation.
We believe that every volunteer contribution can make a difference in protecting mothers and babies. Through continued education, collaboration with healthcare professionals, and community outreach, we aim to expand awareness and empower more women with knowledge to make informed decisions about their pregnancies and childbirth.
