Community Volunteerism for Maternal Health Awareness – IVY 2026 is a national volunteer-led activity that supports the objectives of the International Volunteer Year (IVY) 2026 by highlighting the role of volunteers in advancing sustainable development.

The activity focuses on mobilizing and supporting community volunteers to promote maternal health awareness, early health-seeking behaviour, and emotional support for pregnant women, particularly in underserved communities in Ghana.

Volunteers are engaged in health education sessions, community outreach, home visits, referrals to health facilities, and peer support for expectant mothers.
The activity demonstrates how volunteerism strengthens community resilience and contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through grassroots action.
