The Congress of Students in Romania is a national event that brings together both student representatives and students interested in actively engaging in academic life and decision-making processes. It also gathers education leaders, public authorities, and relevant organizations. Its main goal is to discuss key issues in the higher education system, develop policy proposals, and represent students’ interests at the national level.

The event includes discussion sessions and presentations on topics such as education quality, access to studies, student rights, and civic engagement, contributing to strengthening the dialogue between students and decision-makers. This year’s theme is “The Student Engaged in Civil Society,” marked in the context of the International Year of Volunteers.

In addition, a research study on youth engagement in civil society in Romania is being conducted for this year’s edition. The results will be presented during the congress and will serve as the basis for a set of public policy proposals to be submitted to public authorities.
