The UN Bonn Campus is actively observing the International Volunteer Year 2026 (IVY 2026), which officially launched on 5 December 2025. To mark the occasion, the UN Bonn Campus Green Team inaugurated the year with a Campus Clean-Up event, bringing colleagues together in the spirit of volunteerism under the theme “Every Contribution Matters”.

The UN Bonn Campus Green Team is a staff-led initiative that promotes sustainability, environmental awareness and community engagement across the UN entities based in Bonn, Germany. Through practical activities and awareness campaigns, the Green Team encourages colleagues to adopt more sustainable habits both in the workplace and in their daily lives.

As part of the IVY 2026 journey, several initiatives have already taken place, including campus clean-ups, a “Show a Little Love to Our Planet” Green Challenge during Valentine’s Week (9–13 February), SWAP Markets and a Zero Waste Tips initiative.

With many more activities planned throughout 2026, this marks just the beginning of the UN Bonn Campus contribution to IVY 2026 and its continued commitment to promoting volunteerism, sustainability and community engagement.
