In celebration of the World Day of Social Justice on February 20, 2026 the Global Hope Supporters in Republic of Korea organized the Hold Hope Campaign. From February 2 to 12, during the Lunar New Year holiday—a time when families traditionally gather—they delivered winter blankets to approximately 1,700 households in need, including senior citizens living alone, single-parent and grandparent-headed families, multicultural families, households with members with disabilities, and households headed by young adults. The donations were made in cooperation with approximately 260 government offices.

Launched in 2012, this initiative grew out of the Church of God’s tradition of sharing love with neighbors for the traditional holidays, a campaign dedicated to helping those in need during major Korean holidays like Lunar New Year and Chuseok. As of March 2026, 4,269 activities had been carried out in Korea, benefiting 85,859 households.

Originating in Korea and later expanding worldwide, the campaign comprised 256 activities across 21 countries between February and May 2026. It provided assistance worth approximately USD 175,795 to 6,059 households. These efforts reflected the purpose of World Day of Social Justice by advancing poverty eradication and social inclusion, while contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 1: No Poverty; Goal 2: Zero Hunger; Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities; and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.

[What Is the Hold Hope Campaign?]
The Hold Hope Campaign is a global initiative striving for a world without hunger by supporting economically and socially vulnerable populations facing food insecurity, as well as small-scale farmers and food producers. Volunteers pack groceries and daily necessities together with handwritten letters of comfort and encouragement, and deliver them to people in need. In line with IVY 2026’s recognition of volunteerism as a force for sustainable development, the campaign goes beyond merely distributing goods; it focuses on caring for neighbors and sharing warmth.

As of March 2026, the campaign has provided approximately USD 3.5 million in goods and financial assistance to over 105,000 households in 58 countries. Additionally, 21,520 volunteers across 12 countries have carried out 645 activities to support small-scale farmers and food producers in the agriculture, fishery, and livestock sectors.

1. Livelihood Support for People in Need: The campaign supports low-income communities worldwide, focusing on countries where the prevalence of severe food insecurity exceeds the global average. In collaboration with government offices, volunteers provide daily necessities and groceries to those facing humanitarian crises, fostering self-reliance and raising global awareness of the food crisis.
2. Support for Small-Scale Farmers and Food Producers: The campaign helps stabilize local food supply systems by providing tailored assistance to people working in agriculture, fisheries, and livestock farming, including volunteer labor and essential supplies.

[Who Are the Global Hope Supporters?]
Global Hope Supporters are the volunteer corps of the World Mission Society Church of God. They contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals across six core areas: ▶ Climate Change Response ▶ Poverty and Hunger Alleviation ▶ Educational Support ▶ Health and Well-Being Promotion ▶ Sustainable and Safe Society Building ▶ Peace, Inclusion, and Solidarity. The Hold Hope Campaign is carried out as part of the Church’s work to alleviate poverty and hunger.

In celebration of the UN's 2026 International Year of Volunteers and the 2nd anniversary of Mother’s Love and Peace Day, the Church of God is actively practicing the values of Mother’s love and inclusion, with the goal that every Global Hope Supporter volunteers at least twice a year. Mother’s Love and Peace Day, observed on November 1, was established to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Church. In response to the needs of an era marked by widespread conflict and division, the Church launched the Words of Mother’s Love That Bring Peace Campaign, which is grounded in mutual respect and understanding. All Global Hope Supporters participate in the campaign, regarding people around the world as one family and learning the value of Mother’s Love, which they put into practice through their words and volunteer service.
