Malawi has taken an important step in advancing its participation in the International Volunteer Year 2026 (IVY 2026) by officially appointing its national focal point. The Ministry of Labour, Skills, and Innovation has nominated Mr. Twaibu Ali, Principal Economist, to coordinate all IVY‑related activities on behalf of the Government of Malawi.

The appointment underscores the country’s commitment to elevating the role of volunteers and strengthening its contribution to the international volunteer movement.
