Mass Participation in Environmental Volunteering
Environmental movements that mobilise millions of volunteers around a shared purpose can create lasting impact when mass participation is transformed into sustainable local action. Strengthening volunteer networks, involving local communities, and bringing different stakeholders together are among the key elements that increase the impact of environmental volunteering.
Cengiz Kasak, Country Coordinator of Let’s Do It Türkiye, will discuss how a global environmental movement can be organised at the local level, how mass volunteer participation can be mobilised, and what kinds of approaches have emerged from field experience.
The webinar will explore local practices of a global environmental movement through the experience of World Cleanup Day. It will also address sustainable action models that go beyond one-time activities, volunteer networks as the driving force of environmental movements, and key actors involved in local transformation through concrete examples.
We invite everyone who wants to mobilise wider communities in environmental volunteering, make volunteer participation more sustainable, and create lasting transformation at the local level to join this webinar.
The webinar is being organised within the scope of the International Volunteer Year (IVY). It is free of charge, and participants will receive certificates upon completion.
