Providing psychosocial support in disaster settings requires more than transferring professional knowledge directly to the field. Clarifying the roles, authority boundaries, and task framework of volunteer psychologists in advance is critical for ensuring safe support under intense and uncertain conditions, while also making volunteer contribution sustainable.

Psk. Nazan Rümeysa Tekin, General Coordinator of the Turkish Psychological Association, will discuss the preparation and coordination processes that begin before volunteer psychologists enter the field.

The webinar will explore the psychosocial support volunteer system in disasters, the roles and authority boundaries of volunteer psychologists, and how ethical limits can be maintained in field conditions. It will also address how volunteers can be supported within the system, how the burden in the field can be managed, and how sustainability is connected to preparation, orientation, and coordination.
