Scientific fieldwork with volunteers requires more than assigning tasks; it depends on a careful preparation process that clarifies expectations, motivation, knowledge level, field conditions, and the quality standards of data collection. When volunteers are guided properly, their contribution can become both more meaningful and more reliable.

Gül Tutar, Centre Coordinator of KuzeyDoğa Association, will discuss how volunteers are prepared for scientific field studies through the field experiences of KuzeyDoğa Association.

The webinar will explore the stages of volunteer preparation, including the first meeting, detailed briefing, guidance for different personalities and learning styles, open communication, feedback, and helping volunteers feel like a real part of the process. It will also address data collection protocols, data quality, field safety, expert verification, and how volunteer effort can contribute to long-term nature conservation work.
