Psychological Comfort and Emotional Resilience of Preschoolers: Tools for the Educator's Daily Work
Psychological Well-being and Emotional Resilience in Preschool Children
A psychologically safe and supportive environment helps preschool children feel secure, cope with emotional difficulties and gradually develop self-regulation skills. Everyday interactions with educators, early recognition of signs of anxiety and age-appropriate support play an important role in building children’s emotional resilience.
Ruslana Naida, Professor at Dubno Pedagogical Professional College, a separate structural unit of Rivne State University of Humanities, will present practical approaches to creating a supportive emotional environment in preschool classrooms and helping children cope with stressful situations. Particular attention will be given to methods for reducing anxiety, developing self-regulation skills and organising everyday teaching practices that support children’s psychological well-being.
The webinar will explore breathing exercises, movement breaks and creative activities incorporating elements of art therapy and storytelling therapy to help ease emotional tension. Participants will learn about approaches to supporting children as they settle into preschool, alongside a step-by-step response to intense emotional reactions: recognising signs of overload, ensuring safety, re-establishing emotional connection and working with parents and specialists when needed.
We invite early childhood educators, teachers, psychologists, curriculum specialists, early childhood setting leaders and everyone interested in creating psychologically safe environments and supporting children’s emotional development more effectively to join the webinar.
The webinar is being organised within the scope of the International Volunteer Year (IVY). It is free of charge, and participants will receive certificates upon completion.
