Adapting to changing life conditions after spinal cord injury requires not only access to information, but also trust-based solidarity with people who have gone through similar experiences. Peer experience and volunteer support can help individuals feel that they are not alone while rebuilding their lives and can contribute to a stronger adaptation process.

Fatih Sınav, President of the Spinal Cord Paralytics Association of Türkiye (TOFD), will discuss the role of peer counselling in rebuilding life after spinal cord injury, within the framework of the association’s fields of work and the role of volunteers.

The webinar will explore TOFD’s areas of work and activities, the role of volunteering within the association, the adaptation process after spinal cord injury, and the basic principles of peer counseling. Through TOFD’s peer counseling practices, the webinar will also examine how shared life experience supports trust-building and information sharing, and how volunteers can strengthen solidarity without replacing professional support.

We invite everyone who wants to understand the contribution of peer experience, volunteer support, and solidarity built within appropriate boundaries to the adaptation process after spinal cord injury to join this webinar.

The webinar is being organised within the scope of the International Volunteer Year (IVY). It is free of charge, and participants will receive certificates upon completion.
