Russia approves IVY 2026 National Action Plan
Russia has approved a national action plan for the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development 2026, bringing together more than 50 federal and international events throughout the year. The programme - developed with input from volunteers, NGOs, and civic actors - focuses on four key areas: humanitarian action, education, environmental initiatives, and the development of volunteering infrastructure and international cooperation.
Coordinated by the Dobro ecosystem and partners, the Year will combine large-scale campaigns, international missions, and knowledge exchange initiatives, with a strong emphasis on strengthening volunteering systems, expanding partnerships, and raising the visibility of volunteer contributions nationally and globally.
The Dobro ecosystem (centred around Dobro.ru) is a large-scale digital and institutional platform for volunteering that connects volunteers, organisations, businesses, and public authorities. It provides tools for matching volunteers with opportunities, delivering training, managing projects, and recognising volunteer contributions. In recent years, it has evolved into a broader civic engagement infrastructure that supports national and international initiatives, including coordinating and implementing activities for the International Volunteer Year 2026.
