In volunteering activities carried out with children, safety is too fundamental to be left only to goodwill. Defining the boundaries, duties, and possible risks of the volunteer’s relationship with children before entering the field plays a decisive role in creating a safe and sustainable volunteering experience.

Ecem Arıgümüş, Deputy Manager of Corporate Communications and Fundraising at Koruncuk Foundation, and Utku Akdere, Deputy Project Coordinator, will discuss the volunteering journey at Koruncuk Foundation and the institutional safety approach developed for volunteers working with children.

The webinar will explore the preparation structure from volunteer candidacy and orientation to volunteer training. It will also address how the volunteer code of conduct and Child Protection Policy define volunteers’ roles, boundaries, and safe forms of interaction with children, and how these principles are embedded throughout the volunteering journey at Koruncuk Foundation.
