How should volunteers establish contact with individuals experiencing homelessness, and how is trust built step by step? How can volunteering in this field evolve from short-term support into long-term solidarity, and how are roles such as support, accompaniment, and empowerment balanced in practice?

This webinar explores the practices of volunteering in homelessness through first contact, safe communication, crisis sensitivity, and ethical boundaries. Mehmet Evren Tüfekçi, President of the Association “Çorbada Tuzun Olsun,” will share field-based insights on how volunteering is implemented on the streets, including trust-building processes and solidarity practices.

Participants will gain a practical understanding of how volunteers contribute to access to basic needs such as shelter, food, hygiene, and healthcare, as well as referral mechanisms, institutional cooperation, and pathways that support social reintegration.

We invite everyone who wants to develop more conscious, respectful, and sustainable volunteering practices in the field of homelessness to join this webinar.

The event will be held as an online webinar within the framework of the 2026 International Year of Volunteers. It is open to everyone and is completely free, including a certificate of participation.
