The Transformative Power of Volunteering in Education
Volunteering in education is not limited to providing individual support; it also creates a transformative impact that strengthens school communities, enriches learning processes, and expands social participation. Volunteering models in which students, teachers, parents, and community stakeholders act together can turn learning environments into centres that generate social benefit.
The Educational Volunteers Foundation of Türkiye (TEGV) is one of the country’s strongest examples of how volunteer power can support children’s access to quality education and create lasting social impact in the field of education. Aykut Saka, Volunteer Operations Manager at TEGV, will share practical insights into the collaborative learning approach in education, participatory and inclusive models for civil society organisations, and real experiences in volunteer management and impact measurement within educational projects.
Through examples such as school-based social responsibility projects, volunteer initiatives carried out with student clubs, parent-led programmes, and local partnerships built under teacher leadership, participants will explore how multi-stakeholder volunteering can be organised in educational settings. This webinar offers a valuable opportunity for everyone who wants to strengthen their own institution or school model through volunteering.
The webinar will be held via the ILA Talks mobile application as part of the International Year of Volunteers activities. The event is free of charge, and participants will receive Turkish-English certificates of participation at the end of the session.
