Training Course on Community-Based Volunteer Program
Is community-based volunteering merely about implementing activities, or is it a co-creative process where individuals come together to think, design, and generate collective impact? This training programme approaches volunteering as a strategic design field—bringing together participation, experience, and impact within a structured and sustainable framework.
Hosted by TÜSEV in Istanbul, the programme combines theory with hands-on workshops to equip participants with practical tools for designing and managing community-based volunteer initiatives. Through a participatory learning environment, attendees will explore how volunteering can be structured around governance, collaboration, and meaningful engagement.
Participants will gain in-depth insight into the transformation of volunteering and emerging approaches, volunteer governance processes, effective communication and collective working methods, and the core principles of community building. The programme also introduces practical community design tools and includes a workshop where participants will develop their own volunteer community models step by step.
Designed for professionals in civil society, volunteer coordinators, and individuals aiming to build or strengthen volunteer communities, this training offers a comprehensive, applied learning experience. Participation is limited and based on application evaluation, ensuring a focused and interactive learning environment.
The programme is organised by the National Volunteering Committee in collaboration with SIM, TÜSEV, and ILA as part of the International Year of Volunteers 2026 framework.
The training is free of charge, and participants will receive Turkish–English certificates upon completion.
