More than 80 volunteers from civil organisations in seven countries – Albania, the Czech Republic, Georgia, Hungary, Poland, Serbia and Slovakia – came together in Szeged for the Transnational Volunteer Jamboree 2026.
The four-day international event created a space for volunteers to meet, exchange experiences and learn from each other. Through workshops, discussions, intercultural programmes and local voluntary actions, participants explored different approaches to volunteering and shared good practices from their own communities.

The programme also included the V4 Volunteer Award, recognising volunteers for their commitment, achievements and contributions to their communities. The award ceremony provided an opportunity to celebrate not only individual achievements but also the values and diversity of volunteering. The 14 awarded volunteers from 7 countries became ambassadors for volunteering in their own countries, to create a campaign about social engagement. The awardees and nominees can also be followed through a public Volunteer Social Wall on Padlet, where the colorful voluntary activities are visible: https://padlet.com/4v_project/volunteer-activities-overall-ugz7gm6srepi…

The Transnational Volunteer Jamboree showed how volunteering can bring together people from different countries, generations and communities by sharing experiences, recognising volunteers, taking part in cross-border voluntary actions and building new international connections. The event also contributed to the Sustainable Development Goals, most particularly "Partnerships for the Goals", by strengthening cooperation and partnerships between volunteers and organisations across countries.

The project is co-financed by the Governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
