On Friday, October 2nd, Catania hosted "VolonTalk!"—an event organized by the Etna Volunteer Service Center (Centro di Servizio per il Volontariato Etneo) designed to connect young people with the world of volunteering. It served as a space to share experiences, engage in discussion, and reflect together on the meaning of giving and civic participation.

The event provided a forum for dialogue between students who have already completed volunteer work and the volunteers who supported them throughout their journey.

Through personal testimonies, videos, and group discussions, the students shared their experiences with their peers—recounting what they discovered through their involvement with various organizations, and how this experience shifted their perspective on solidarity, civic engagement, and their own community.

Also present were students preparing to embark on their own volunteer journeys, fostering a dialogue between those who have already lived the experience and those about to begin it.

The event held even greater significance in 2026—the International Year of Volunteering for Sustainable Development—offering an opportunity to reaffirm the role of the younger generation in building communities defined by greater participation and solidarity.
