Webinar "Conversations with Purpose - How to implement a Volunteer Support And Personal Development Programme"
The ongoing support of volunteers is a priority for the municipality of Maia - Portugal, European Volunteering Capital 2026, carried out primarily through the “Conversas d’Propósito” (Conversations with Purpose) Programme. The Programme, dedicated to volunteers, comprises three online sessions and three in-person sessions, allowing volunteers to choose the format most convenient for them. It aims to ensure the well-being of volunteers throughout their journey and to foster their personal growth. Through semi-structured sessions, it creates an environment in which volunteers feel valued, heard, and included. It is a powerful tool for acknowledging volunteers, that Volunteer-Promoting Organisations, Local Volunteer Banks, and other entities can adopt.
Having been implemented in Maia for four years and recognised as an example of good practice, the municipality is pleased to share its experience. Therefore, and in partnership with Centre for European Volunteering (CEV), we invite you to take part in the Webinar: “Conversas d’Propósito (Conversations with Purpose) – How to Implement a Volunteer Support and Personal Development Programme” that will take place on 30 April 2026, at 11:00 CET.
The opening of the webinar will be conducted by Emília Santos, Vice-President and City Councillor for Social Development and Demography of the Municipality of Maia, Gabriella Civico, Director of CEV, and Zarina Mirabdullayeva, Regional Coordinator for the International Volunteer Year (IVY) 2026, UNV Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia
