World Drowning Prevention
Drowning prevention depends on volunteers who turn knowledge into action within their communities. In recognition of the International Volunteer Year, the Swim Global Project launched its 2026 theme, “Actions for Change.”
Through the leadership of founder Nathalie Martin, the Swim Global Project mobilizes Ambassadors, volunteers, trainers and community partners in Florida and around the world. In observance of World Drowning Prevention Day, they organized locally relevant activities, shared water-safety education and expanded access to lifesaving skills.
These volunteer-led initiatives demonstrate the spirit of the International Volunteer Year: people using their time, knowledge and local leadership to create meaningful and lasting change.
In Florida, Swim Global Project founder Nathalie mobilized volunteers, organizations and community partners to strengthen water-safety education, support local drowning-prevention activities and build coordinated action across the state.
