Youth Engagement and Volunteerism Awareness Activities under Mission 5642
As part of his work as a KarmaYogi Ambassador 2026, Sachin Maurya conducted youth awareness and volunteerism activities in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, engaging students through discussions on environmental responsibility, water conservation, volunteerism, social responsibility and sustainable development.
The activities were connected with initiatives including Mission 5642, Young KarmaYogi, Save Bhujal and HaritGhar, with the aim of encouraging young people to understand that meaningful social and environmental change can begin with small, practical actions.
At Prerna Boys School, a session was conducted with 80+ students focusing on Mission 5642, the concept of a KarmaYogi and Save Bhujal. Students discussed why groundwater should be conserved and explored practical ways to reduce water wastage, such as closing taps properly, reporting leakages, avoiding unnecessary water use and reusing water wherever possible. Students were also encouraged to consider how they could contribute as young KarmaYogis.
A second youth engagement session was conducted at City Academy Law College, Tiwariganj, Lucknow, with 120+ students. The discussion focused on volunteerism, social responsibility, sustainable development and the role of young people as Young KarmaYogis. Students were encouraged to move beyond awareness and participate in practical community activities.
The sessions emphasized that volunteerism does not always require money, professional experience or large organisations. Time, skills, creativity, awareness and taking responsibility for a local problem can all become forms of service.
The activities also highlighted the importance of turning awareness into continued action. Students were encouraged to connect with existing volunteers and organisations working in areas such as wildlife, animal welfare, environment, education and social development, and to begin contributing in whatever way they can.
Through these engagements, the activity aimed to encourage young people to become active contributors to their communities and to understand that sustainable change can begin with one person taking responsibility and continuing to act.
