The resumption of the proceedings of the Criminal Courts (Bangui and Bouar) and the launch of activities of the Special Criminal Court are key to stabilizing the country in the long term. Volunteerism has played an important role in this process, since United Nations volunteers are primarily engaged in awareness-raising activities on the ground.
